THE BREAKOUT
00:00 / 04:12

"The Breakout" is the third and final single of THE RIFT This song is a high-spirit mix of heavy funk and creamy but steady rock attitude. According to the song architect of the band; Heinz Wallner:"It was definitely inspired by bands we admire like Faith no More and Muse, we love to fuse sounds and genres that we like to hear. It's like mixing a crazy cocktail. Cheers in case you are up for it" grins the singer.

"The BREAKOUT" was heavily inspired by 80s and 90s funk combined with alternative rock from the late 90s it is once again the formula the band has been using through out the entire album. Multi genre fusion all the way.

THE BREAKOUT - OFFICIAL VIDEO (UNRELEASED)

The official music video displays the desperate attempt of a lab rat to break out of an evil laboratory. Video director and Bassist  of the band Ricardo Paz claims: "It is a metaphor for the title and content of the lyrics, it is somehow a breakout on several levels, if you know what I mean."

MODULA NATION - THE RIFT (UNRELEASED)

Modula Nation are thrilled to announce the release of their brand new album The Rift.

The date and the label are still to be defined.

It's indisputable that Modula Nation's debut album will mark the beginning of a brand-new chapter in the bands history setting a milestone for the Austrian rock quartet. The album promises to deliver pulsating speed fulled space punk/rock odysseys like the albums ambitious opener

"The Rift" The official music video is intended to be be a homage to Stanley Kubrick's iconic movie: 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) merged with criticism to modern day space tourism programs and entertainment propaganda.

Then comes a surprising turn of events: the second song of the album "Silicon Carne" is a funky but heavy song that would suit the Chili Peppers linked up with Refused featuring a very prominent Santana like vibe during the bridge of the tune. With the official music video to Modula Nation's "Silicon Carne" the Austrian rock band invites viewers on a overloaded audio-visual trip that’s both exhilarating, overwhelming and packed to the top with information and data overflow.

"Headlights" is a mid tempo synth rock chant, underlining the band's affinity towards electronic music of the early 00's combined with stoner rock influenced guitar riffs and big beat energy, accompanied and guided by Heinz' nostalgic and melancholic vocals. The track seems to be strongly influenced by the sound of groups such as Radiohead and the early Queens of the Stone Age.

The equator of the album is marked by "The Breakout". This song is a high-spirit mix of heavy funk and creamy but steady rock attitude. According to the song architect of the band; Heinz Wallner:"It was definitely inspired by bands we admire like Faith no More and Muse, we love to fuse sounds and genres that we like to hear. It's like mixing a crazy cocktail. Cheers in case you are up for it" grins the singer. The Breakout is the last single of the album. The official music video displays the desperate attempt of a lab rat to break out of an evil laboratory. Video director and Bassist  of the band Ricardo Paz claims: "It is a metaphor for the title and content of the lyrics, it is somehow a breakout on several levels, if you know what I mean."

On the other hand "Shred" is a very intensive track, it features complex rhythms and tight tempi. It is with out doubt one of the darker and gloomier songs of the album, underlining its influences such as: Tool, Nine Inch Nails and Mike Patton. The high energy odd tempo jam creates a rhythmic mantra and an ever evolving groove that keeps shifting during the entire song. Heinz' fast paced vocals create an answer to the industrial-like heavy guitar riffs and to a rhythmic question that is steadily unfolding but yet present throughout the entire song.

"I won't let them" can be defined as the ballad of the album, however it is a strong protest anthem as well as a personal assessment towards several "restrictions" enforced by the Austrian government during the latest pandemic during the early '2020s. The track starts as a ballad but suddenly moves into more proggy territory. The songs is strongly influenced by oriental music and of course progressive rock and metal.

"Soulfever" is the closure of THE RIFT, with a running time of over ten minutes, The song features flashy guitars, powerful beats, latin percussion, '70s organs/keys and jazzy saxophone spirit and as well as a few eye winks to the likes of Prog. Rockers The Mars Volta and Psychedelic Rock Godfather Carlos Santana. The song features the following guest appearances: Norbert Wallner (Percussions), Milos Milojevic

(Saxophone) and Raphael Neikes (Keys and Synths). It is with out doubt one the strongest tracks on the album due to it's  evolution towards a more liberated and experimental musical direction, delivering the climax of the album. with its ever evolving pulsating rhythms, vibrant guitar riffs, and Heinz Waller's distinct vocals, this track is the cherry on top of what The Rift fulfils to deliver—an album filled with multi faceted rock anthems, crossover genre influences, and a nostalgic salutation to the rock and roll epos of the ´70s,'90s and '00s crowned by free-flowing jams and creativity that leaves it's audience craving for more.
